The Australian College of Kuwait commenced operation in October 2004 as the first private vocational education college in Kuwait offering  high quality of blended learning opportunities, in various disciplines. It strives to offer all students the chance to develop personal ambition and skills, through its unique arrangement in Kuwait providing ‘2+2’ course to obtain diploma in two years then study for a further two years to obtain Australian or Canadian qualifications that are recognized throughout the world.

ACK uses a consortium of Arab and Australian management and Australian instructors and operates in partnership with a number of Australian Universities and Institutes to provide world-class vocational education for the first time in Kuwait.

  • A purpose-built campus in West Mishref, Kuwait, expanded and renewed. It now offers a state-of-the-art training facility from which a wide range of education and training programs are delivered. The campus contains a main administration building with an impressive front of  the entrance, a Landscaped garden and outdoor recreation areas, an engineering building and workshop aviation Complex, Learning Centers and a marine simulation training centre.

  • Australian College of Kuwait is accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC) in Kuwait.

    •             The Private Universities Council (PUC) has accredited the College to operate as a provider of higher education courses. Initially offering two-year diploma courses, ACK now has PUC approval to offer degree programs as well.

    •             It is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education

    •             ACK's qualifications are endorsed by the Private Universities Council (PUC) and therefore are recognized by all Kuwait Ministries, Departments and Authorities

    •             ACK graduates receive Australian or Canadian qualifications that are recognized throughout the world ACK’s Aviation department is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in Kuwait and has also been accredited with European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) Part 147 approval.

    •             Department of Business: A Bachelor of Business is offered under the auspice of the University of Tasmania.

    •             The Department of Business at ACK offer four Australian vocational diploma qualifications auspiced by the Tasmanian Polytechnic

    To apply for a diploma

    • two true copies of the Official Secondary School Certificate and English translated copy listing coursework and final class rank or its equivalent, certified by the Ministry of Education
    • copy of  Passport
    • copy of your Civil ID
    • 2 Passport Photographs. Original certificates are also required for sighting.
    • For British/American or foreign High School graduates:
    • An equivalency of Kuwaiti High School issued by the Ministry of Education as well as your Academic transcript is required.
    • Engineering Diploma applicants must hold a High School Certificate Science section. Graduates from American and British schools need to have passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
    • If English is not first language of student ,he/she must take an ACK English Language Assessment Test at the time of applying excepting if the student have a certified Internet Based Test TOEFL of 71 or Academic IELTS of 5.5 (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking Bands must also be a minimum of 5.5)
    • When submitting application a non-refundable application fee of KD30 must be paid.
    • Applications should be submitted to the ACK Mishref campus

     

    To Apply for Degree:

    • Complete and sign an ACK Degree Application Form (available from the ACK Admissions Office)
    • Complete and sign a UTAS International Student Application Form (available from the ACK Admissions Office)
    •  A photocopy of  Australian TAFE Diploma and Australian TAFE Statement of Academic Record
    •  A copy of Passport, copy of Civil ID
    •  2 Passport Photographs.
    • When submitting application a non-refundable application fee of KD50 must be paid when.

     Eligibility to  apply to the ACK Degree

    • ACK Management and Marketing Diploma graduates with a GPA of 2.67 or higher will be given direct entry into the ACK Bachelor of Business program.
    • ACK Mechanical and Civil Engineering Diploma graduates with a GPA of 2.67 or higher can directly entry into either the ACK Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical) or (Civil) program.
    • ACK Oil & Gas and Electronics & Communications Engineering Diploma graduates with a GPA of 2.67 or higher who have successfully completed the pre-requisite unit MATH2104 Mathematics III can directly entry into either the ACK Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Petroleum) or (Electronics & Controls) program.

     

     Requirements  for The Foundation Program

    • Oxford Online Placement Test (a computerized test) to place applicants according to their appropriate English language level.

    TOEFL  Requirements:

    • Must be presented and verified within the first two weeks of the semester.
    • If the verified score either allows entry to a higher level of English OR allows direct entry to a Diploma Program, then this can take place immediately.
     

    If the student is currently enrolled at ACK the IELTS or TOEFL certificate will not be accepted past the first two weeks of the semester. Students enrolled at ACK must complete the academic semester.

    Semester fees are due in full at time of enrolment.

    Students pay a deposit of 1100 USD (English language students) or 1190 USD (Business Diploma and Engineering Diploma students) id the installment plan is chosen, in addition to amenities fee of 250 USD.

     

    Fees for the Bachelor of Business program

    • Fees are payable at the time of enrolment.
    • Students pay a deposit of 2300 USD in addition to amenities fee of 250 USD.

     

    • A photocopy of the ACK letter of offer must be signed and retained on file.
    • Original certificates are also required for sighting.

     

    Fees for Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical)

    • 2700 USD per unit in addition to an amenities fee of 250 USD each semester.

    • EASA exam fees must be paid in full by the students prior to sitting the exam.
    • Each EASA exam the student passes from the first sitting is considered within ACK fee
    • Each EASA exam failed, its repetition sitting should be paid by the student
    • The exam fees are presently 215 USD each

     

    ACK reserves the right to increase fees for future academic years.

    Limited Scholarship and Financial Aid opportunities are available at ACK. Students who experience financial difficulties are encouraged to submit a written request for financial aid supported by official documents and evidence. Requests are to be submitted to Student Affairs. A special Committee reviews applications and informs students of the outcome. ACK is an equal Opportunity Organization.

    Private Universities Council (PUC)

    Internal Government Scholarships are available for young Kuwaitis wishing to study at the Australian College of Kuwait. These scholarships are 80% funded by the Ministry of Higher Education through the Private Universities Council, and 20% by ACK. Eligible students are encouraged to apply during the scholarship registration periods as announced.

    Academic Achievement

    ACK Government/ ACK Scholarships are also available for Kuwaiti academic high achievers who have completed the first year of their Diploma studies with a GPA of 3.00 and above. These high achievers are invited to apply for these scholarships during announced registration periods.

    Loan facilities

    Available for students who required paying for their ACK tuition.

    ACK offers loans facilities from the National Bank of Kuwait and Al-Tessheelat Company.
